Ou River

Part of a series of digital hydrological maps, Ou River turns open weather and near-surface wind data from cities in the Ou River basin into an installation. Real-time water-surface simulations and 3D-printed water cubes give environmental data both digital and physical form.

From weather data to water forms

The installation draws on open weather and near-surface wind data associated with cities across the river basin. These inputs are used to create digital hydrological maps and simulated water surfaces in real time. Alongside the digital work, 3D-printed water-cube models materialise the data, bringing natural information and artistic design together through changing surfaces and physical forms.
